These include; developing and successfully running the Bahrain International Circuit, Head of Ford Europe’s Motorsport Programme, senior positions within McLaren and Bernie Ecclestone’s Formula One management company, as well as being part of the FIA, world motorsport’s governing body under two presidents, Jean-Marie Balestre and Max Mosley.

Born in Gloucester with the family home on the Hereford / Gloucester border, Martin Whitaker, Chief Executive of Circuit of Wales, was educated in the West Country at Downs School and then at Blundell’s School, before moving on to Cirencester Agricultural College.
